Community Bicycle Shop

I have been dreaming, for a while, about a place where cycling enthusiast can gather. I see three to five bike stands with full tool sets where cyclists can come to work on their bikes and swap stories, from epic adventures to commutes home. This place has all the bike parts a person would need. It is a cozy atmosphere with a few tables, comfortable seating, durable floors with space to park bikes, toys for the children and of course hot espresso. When the sun is shining, big doors are open to allow people to walk right through. When the season is right, there could be locally grown produce available. There would also be space for local artists to decorate.

I am starting this blog to get the wheels turning. The setting is Pullman Washington, the small college community of Washington State University. Local elevation ranges from around 700' to 5000' above sea level. Miles of single track, rolling empty highways, and 2000' climbs are all available within 30 miles of Pullman. The local community is a collage of students, business owners, farmers, faculty and staff. The current cycling community is a tight-knit bunch of riders who care more about how you ride then what you ride, of course we all appreciate the bikes that are art.

To make this dream a reality I'm going to start posting here: location ideas; business ideas; pictures of local trails; local bikes; links that are related; open rides that have been scheduled and rides that are available in the region. I hope you will do the same.

Ride your bike.
